Dance, Song, Music and Sociability 1750 -1832
5-6 March 2021
A call for papers has been published. If you pursue research in this highly interesting field, this might be a nice chance to present your results. Deadline for proposals is end of May 2020.

Save the date!
After solving various issues regarding the postponement of the Historical Dance Symposium, Burg Rothenfels has definitely fixed its new date for 15 - 19 June 2022. The Symposium Special will take place from 12 - 15 June 2022.
We are looking forward to seeing you there!

Symposium postponed!
Like many other conferences, the Historical Dance Symposium, 10 - 14 June, has now been cancelled (including the Symposium Special, 7 -10 June). It will be postponed, probably to 15 - 19 June 2022. We'll keep the same subject "The Ball" and are looking forward to seeing as many of the nominated contributors as possible together with lots of attendants at Burg Rothenfels in about two years' time.

Coronavirus Outbreak
The incredibly fast spreading of the coronavirus outbreak is keeping us busy, too. Since the international situation is changing daily, it is quite unpredictable, what the world is going to look like in middle of June. Therefore right now we are not able to make any definite decision. However we are watching the developement closely. Whenever we have new information, we will publish it on this website and on facebook.
We sincerely hope, there is still a way to hold the event at least roughly as is has been planned.

Our "Simultaneous Translation Project"
For all those, who so far had difficulties in understanding the contributions in foreign languages: Now, we have the support of a professional interpreter, who'll simultaneously translate the lectures into English and German.
