Under the motto "research dance - dance research", dancers, lovers of dance and scholars from all over the world come together to discuss, dance, gain inspiration and make new contacts.

        • Compact performances show current artistic interpretations.
        • Dance evenings and a celebratory ball provide a diversity of new contacts.
        • Sharing life together in the castle enables intensive days of encounter.

Recently, the International Historical Dance Symposium gained a new supporting organisation: the newly founded association DANCE & HISTORY e.V. With this step, we would like to create a broader and also legally more solid basis for the organisation, which has previously relied on the private initiative of individuals in collaboration with Burg Rothenfels. The specific aim of DANCE & HISTORY is to promote research into dance. A central emphasis here is on the practical realisation of dance, which is of course one of the main aims of the Historical Dance Symposium.

If you wish to support the Symposium, membership of the association or making a donation are very good ways to do so. The association is recognised as being of public benefit, so donations and membership contributions are tax-deductible.
