“Let us imagine ourselves as so many living Pictures drawn by the most excellent Masters…” (Kellom Tomlinson).
This workshop will explore some of the unique elements of Kellom Tomlinson's treatise "The Art of Dancing" (1735). Using his choreographies, we will explore his descriptions of stepping and carriage of the arms. We will also take into consideration what he calls, “the whole Art of Dancing” drawing on his engraved plates to serve as clues to cultivating individual style and charm in dancing.
Prerequisites: The seminar is intended for dancers with a good knowledge of Baroque dance. Teaching language is English.
